HP Serial Connection Procedure for Time Guardian v5.0
The below steps establishes serial connection to handpunch terminals with Time Guardian version 5, plus, or pro
- Connect the hp terminal to the serial port com1 or com2
- Then on time guardian (tg), go to
- Edit > setup
- Clock > yes, yes, no, yes
- Click on location terminal
- Click garbage if says fpt or mtx
- Press the plus sign
- Enter hp in name
- Choose the term type as model of your hp
- Go to connection tab, direct
- Select com1 or 2
- Next tab, terminal
- Press add
- Terminal # to 1
- Change validation to default
- Verify active is checked
- Click green check mark
- Press green check again
- Press green check again
- Go to communications
- Highlight hp
- 4 green buttons on bottom right
- Press 2nd from left, this will set time - to test communication
